Disc is a relatively new sport for the Inseguire gang. We started training in the spring of 2011 and hope to get the dogs out to at least one competition this summer.  In disc events teams of one person and one dog compete in the standard distance "Toss and Fetch" event. Points are awarded to the team for catches at varying distances. Most competitions also offer a "Freestyle" event, which consists of short routines choreographed to music and uses multiple discs. There is also sometimes distance events in varying formats, but generally the longest catch wins.

Divisions in disc dog events are usually based on the skill and experience of the handler and there are different divisions for small dogs (known as "micro dogs") and big dogs.
